Men Arrested For $700k "Bank Juggling" Theft

The suspects followed the victim after he left Chase bank on Moorpark Rd.

Two Los Angeles men were arrested last week after allegedly following a man from a Thousand Oaks bank and stealing $14,000 in cash from his car.

The theft occurred on June 3, after the victim withdrew the cash from a bank near Janss and Moorpark roads. The suspects [tailed him for about two miles](https://www.nbclosangeles.com/news/local/bank-jugging-suspects-arrested-thousand-oaks/) to a convenience store on Avenida De Los Arboles, investigators said. Once the victim went inside, one man kept watch while the other broke into his car, stealing the money.

Investigators determined the crime was an instance of "bank jugging", in which thieves stake out banks and ATMs, then follow customers who withdraw large sums, waiting for the cash to be left unattended.

The suspects, both 45 years old from San Dimas, are believed to be connected to similar crimes in Torrance, [the Ventura County Star is reporting](https://www.vcstar.com/story/news/crime/2026/07/13/two-arrested-in-14k-theft-thousand-oaks-bank-jugging/), including the theft of nearly $700,000 from an elderly woman. A search of a residence associated with the men turned up gold and jewelry belonging to the woman.

The Thousand Oaks victim's cash was not recovered. Both men were booked into Ventura County jail, and are set to appear in court this week.
