Elevator Rescue

Police responded to an apartment complex near the Third Street Promenade.

An elevator appears to have become unresponsive in a luxury apartment complex in Santa Monica this afternoon.

Fire crews responded to requests for a rescue at a building on Broadway between 4th and 5th Streets, near the Third Street Promenade, just after 4 p.m. today. At least two trucks were dispatched.

It appears at least two people were trapped in the elevator. No injuries have been reported.
