Foot Pursuit of Burglary Suspect

A dramatic foot chase led through Rustic Canyon.

An alleged burglar was apprehended by police after a dramatic foot chase through Pacific Palisades' tony Rustic Canyon neighborhood.

The incident began around 1:15 p.m., after police observed a man walking down a residential street whom they believed to be a suspect in a recent robbery.

As officers approached him, the man fled, prompting a police chase through the area.

The suspect was apprehended around 1:30 p.m. on San Lorenzo St. While initial reports indicated the man was taken into custody without incident, subsequent traffic indicates either the suspect or police sustained some sort of injury during the arrest. We'll update if more information becomes available.

The pursuit ended a short distance away on San Lorenzo St., where the suspect was taken into custody and the situation was declared under control.

Medics were later requested for the man in custody, with Engine 69, Rescue 19 and EMS 9 reported on scene near San Lorenzo St. and Alice L Ln. No serious injuries were reported.
