A Thousand Oaks man ran off a dozen straight wins on "Jeopardy!" this month, banking nearly $350,000 before his streak ended.

Caleb Groen, a policy and law student at Harvard, first appeared July 2 and won 12 consecutive games, eight of them runaways, for a total of $346,968. He's the[latest of five super-champions this season](https://www.deseret.com/entertainment/2026/07/17/caleb-groen-jeopardy-wins-updates/), a designation reserved for players who reach 10 wins.

Along the way, Groen twice broke the record for the season's highest single-game payout, first with a $60,000 win and later with $60,067.

The run ended July 20, when he finished second to a Kansas City contestant. The Final Jeopardy clue,  about an annual festival celebrating its 40th edition, stumped all three players.
