Man Choking Dog

A man was reportedly choking a pit bull by its collar at the Penmar Recreation Center.

Police responded to a reported case of animal cruelty in Venice around 1:10 p.m. today, after a man was seen allegedly choking a pit bull.

Callers indicated a man was in the parking lot of the Penmar Recreation Center, chocking his pit bull by the collar. They indicated the suspect might be suffering from mental illness, as he also appeared to be striking himself.

The man was last seen sitting in a white Dodge SUV, with Washington plates.
