Man Commits Suicide on SM Freeway Overpass
Westbound lanes of the 10 were shut down for hours.

A man died Thursday night after jumping from the Lincoln Blvd. overpass of the 10 Freeway, authorities said.
The death occurred around 9:40 p.m., and was captured on city camera footage, Santa Monica Police Department Lt. Lewis Gilmour said. The man was seen standing on the edge of the overpass before he jumped onto the westbound lanes below.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene due to multiple traumatic injuries. His name has not been released.
The California Highway Patrol issued a SigAlert at 9:56 p.m., shutting down all westbound lanes east of Lincoln Blvd. while investigators were on scene. All lanes reopened around 1:50 a.m. Friday.
Police were investigating the death as a suicide based on a preliminary investigation, Gilmour said.
