Break-In Overnight at Woodland Hills Home

Homeowners reportedly watched the break-in on a surveillance camera.

Three burglars broke into a Woodland Hills home late Sunday night, one of two Valley break-ins reported overnight.

Police responded to reports of a burglary in progress on the 5800 block of Penfield Avenue just before midnight. [KTLA is reporting](LINK) the suspects, dressed in all black, cut the flood lights leading to the back of the home before smashing a window to get inside.

The homeowners weren't home, but watched the break-in unfold on their surveillance cameras and called police. By the time officers arrived, the suspects had fled in a black SUV — a neighbor said they'd left about 10 minutes earlier. It's unclear if anything was taken, and no injuries were reported.

Hours later and a few miles north, [NBC4 is reporting](LINK) three suspects attempted to break into a Porter Ranch home around 3:30 a.m. One resident was home at the time, but the burglars never made it inside, fleeing before police arrived.
