WeHo's Runaway Pig Retires to Malibu

Wilbur, who outran an e-bike and half of West Hollywood, now lives on Diane Warren's animal sanctuary.

Wilbur the pig, whose dash through the streets of West Hollywood went viral last week, has landed in Malibu, on the seven-acre animal sanctuary of songwriter Diane Warren.

The 11-week-old, 17-pound piglet first turned up loose near Laurel Ave. on Saturday, August 15. [Video](https://www.instagram.com/reels/DcNFUCAxMCM/) of resident Jamaal Harrison chasing him down the sidewalk on an e-bike, and failing to catch him, racked up millions of views within days, and social media dubbed him Wilbur.

Someone else eventually caught the pig, who was taken to the West Los Angeles Animal Shelter. When no owner came forward after five days, the shelter put him up for adoption.

Four people wanted him, so the shelter held a silent auction Thursday morning, [the Los Angeles Times is reporting](https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2026-08-21/diane-warren-adopts-viral-west-hollywood-pig-wilbur). The winning bid came from Marcia Zwilling, on behalf of the Diane Warren Foundation.

Warren, the 14-time Oscar nominee behind hits like "If I Could Turn Back Time" and "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing," had seen the videos and given Zwilling simple instructions: "Go get him, go get him."

"I lose Oscars but I won a pig," Warren told ABC7 after meeting Wilbur for the first time.

Wilbur was driven straight to Warren's Malibu ranch, where he was fed a salad and set up in a 24-by-24 foot pen next to Wiener, another rescued pig. Once he grows a bit, Zwilling told the Times, he'll have free run of the property, along with a daily diet of lettuce, cucumbers, blueberries and watermelon.

Warren, who already has a pig named Wilbur at the sanctuary, is reportedly considering renaming the newcomer "Hollywood."
