Shoplifting Suspect Flees to Malibu Library

A store manager reportedly followed the man on foot after he left with items.

Deputies responded to a reported shoplifting at a Malibu grocery store around 12:45 p.m. this morning, after a man allegedly took items and walked off on foot. The call came in from the Whole Foods on Civic Center Way, where a suspect reportedly headed toward the nearby Malibu Library, with the store manager following.

The theft was described as low-value, and the suspect was reportedly last seen near West Civic Center Way. It's unclear if anyone was apprehended.
