Teens Arrested in T.O. High School Break-In

Three Thousand Oaks teens were arrested yesterday for allegedly stealing computers and other electronics from Thousand Oaks High School last month.

Deputies with the Ventura County Sheriff's Office responded to the school on Moorpark Road July 24, after a burglary was reported. School resource officers determined five Apple computers and keyboards worth about $2,700 had been taken, with another $800 in damage done to a school building.

Investigators were able to connect the theft to three local teens: a 15-year-old boy, a 17-year-old girl and an 18-year-old man.

Deputies later executed a search warrant at the 18-year-old's home. Based on his statements and evidence collected there, he was arrested on suspicion of felony burglary and conspiracy, as well as a misdemeanor for contributing to the delinquency of a minor. He's being held on $50,000 bail.

The stolen computers were recovered at the 15-year-old's home, police said. He was booked into the Juvenile Justice Center on suspicion of burglary and conspiracy, while the girl has signed a notice to appear in court.
