Police and medics responded to a welfare check at the Best Western Thousand Oaks around 1 p.m. today, after a guest was found unresponsive in his room.

The man had reportedly been due to check out but wasn't answering his phone. Housekeeping opened the door and saw his feet moving, but he did not respond.

Emergency services were dispatched to the scene. No additional information was immediately available.
